Our Vision

We met right at the beginning of our psychology studies and quickly realized that we shared something crucial: the desire to truly understand people (without prematurely categorizing them).

Since 2023, we have been working in a start-up that offered psychological support for young adults .

During this time, we were able to have countless one-on-one conversations and experienced firsthand how powerful it is when someone finally has a space where everything is allowed to be there . Without pressure. Without judgment. Without that quiet feeling of "you should ...."

These conversations made us realize how much change is possible when you don't have to reach a point of complete overwhelm before seeking support . Many people who came to us didn't have a "big problem".

Our mission is to be there for you.

Why are we called "Nalua"?

The name Nalua comes from the Hawaiian word nalu.
Which has two meanings:
1. Wave, surf; full of waves; to form waves; wavy, like wood grain. or
2. To ponder, meditate, reflect, mull over, speculate.

Watching waves creates a feeling of calm.

The steady flow of people coming and going has a meditative effect. The ups and downs are reminiscent of life itself: you move forward , then seem to stop. You withdraw, gather your thoughts, and yet you always continue moving forward.

Waves represent this natural rhythm of development. Nothing happens in a straight line.

Growth happens through movement.

And yet, waves are not always gentle. They can be powerful, large, and overwhelming. They possess their own force : a force that must be respected, not controlled. Just as we learn early on to respect the ocean, we should not fight our inner processes, but rather approach them with mindfulness.

The word Nalu also means "to reflect, to pause, to consider".
We associate this word with the natural image of water: with the soothing repetition of waves or with the perfect stillness of a smooth water surface . A moment when no waves are visible. When one can perceive depth .
